iPhone-app

Begint zacht, eindigt warm

iPhone app

Your HomeKit lamps as a sunrise alarm

No extra device to buy

On the App Store from 5 November

First Light slowly brings up your own lamps like a sunrise, with a smooth change in brightness and colour: from soft dawn red to warm white.

You do need an Apple TV or HomePod as your home hub. See what you need

Your hub does the work

The sunrise runs on your home hub, an Apple TV or HomePod, as a regular HomeKit automation. That is why it also works when your iPhone is off, on silent or the app is closed.

Starts soft, ends warm

Pick a duration from 15 to 60 minutes or your own, a curve (linear, ease-in, ease-out or S-curve) and a colour ramp. Brightness can start from 1%.

The “Soft Dawn Red” preset with an S-curve from 1% to 100% brightness, duration 30 minutes

See it on your own lamps first

A sped-up preview plays the sunrise on your real lamps. You see how it will look before the alarm goes off.

What you need

  • An Apple TV or HomePod as your home hub
  • At least one dimmable HomeKit lampColour lamps give the nicest effect.
  • An iPhone with iOS 26.5 or later

Without a home hub, HomeKit cannot run the alarms. Please check this before you buy the app.

Works with lamps that appear in the Home app and can be dimmed there, for example Philips Hue (via the Hue Bridge), IKEA (via the DIRIGERA hub), Nanoleaf, LIFX and Eve. You can mix brands in one schedule.

Lamps that can only be switched on and off are marked “not dimmable” and are not used.

Checklist: an Apple TV or HomePod as home hub, a dimmable HomeKit lamp and an iPhone with iOS 26.5 or later

What else is in it?

  • Choose whether the time is when the light is at full brightness or when it starts
