Wat heb je nodig?

  • Een Apple TV of HomePod als woninghub
  • Minstens één dimbare HomeKit-lampKleurlampen geven het mooiste effect.
  • Een iPhone met iOS 26.5 of nieuwer

Zonder woninghub kan HomeKit de wekkers niet uitvoeren. Controleer dit dus voordat je de app koopt.

Werkt met lampen die in de Woning-app staan en daar te dimmen zijn, bijvoorbeeld Philips Hue (via de Hue Bridge), IKEA (via de DIRIGERA-hub), Nanoleaf, LIFX en Eve. Merken mixen in één schema kan.

Lampen die alleen aan en uit kunnen, worden als “niet dimbaar” gemarkeerd en niet gebruikt.

Mijn lampen gingen niet aan.

Loop deze punten na:

  • Hub: staat je Apple TV of HomePod in de Woning-app op “Verbonden”? (Woning-app → Woninginstellingen → Woninghubs en bruggen)
  • Stroom: staat de schakelaar aan de muur aan?
  • Lamp: is hij dimbaar en reageert hij in de Woning-app?
  • Schema: staat het aan voor vandaag?
Ik heb geen Apple TV of HomePod.

Zonder woninghub kan HomeKit de wekkers niet uitvoeren, dus dan werkt First Light niet. Een terugbetaling kun je aanvragen via reportaproblem.apple.com.

Mijn hub was offline.

First Light toont dan “Hub niet bereikbaar”. Controleer de stroom en het wifi van je hub. Een Apple TV in sluimerstand werkt gewoon als hub.

Mijn lamp staat als “niet dimbaar”.

Het apparaat kan in HomeKit alleen aan en uit, dus een zonsopgang is niet mogelijk. Gebruik een dimbare HomeKit-lamp.

De schakelaar aan de muur stond uit.

Laat de stroom aan en zet de lamp uit via de Woning-app, Siri of een slimme schakelaar.

Wat zijn al die “First Light ·”-scènes en -automatiseringen in mijn Woning-app?

Een zonsopgang bestaat uit veel kleine lichtstapjes. HomeKit kan die alleen op je hub laten draaien als elk stapje een eigen scène met een tijdautomatisering is.

Een standaardschema (30 minuten, stappen van 2 minuten) maakt 16 scènes en 16 automatiseringen, ongeacht het aantal dagen. Met stappen van 3 minuten zijn dat er 11 + 11, met stappen van 5 minuten 7 + 7. Grotere stappen geven dus minder items. Een eindstap “uit” of “dimmen” telt er één scène en één automatisering bij op. Elk extra schema telt apart.

Je hoeft er niets mee te doen: verwijder je een schema, dan ruimt de app ze zelf op. Je eigen automatiseringen blijven met rust.

Werkt het met Philips Hue, IKEA of andere merken?

Ja, als de lampen in de Woning-app staan en daar te dimmen zijn. Bijvoorbeeld Philips Hue (via de Hue Bridge), IKEA (via de DIRIGERA-hub), Nanoleaf, LIFX en Eve. Merken mixen in één schema kan.

Werkt het als mijn iPhone uit staat?

Ja. De hub voert de zonsopgang uit, ook als je iPhone uit staat, op stil staat of de app gesloten is.

Hoe gebruik ik Siri?

Zeg “Start zonsopgang met First Light”. Stoppen kan via de balk onderaan in de app of met “Stop zonsopgang met First Light”.

De app staat in de verkeerde taal.

First Light volgt de taal van je iPhone. Je past hem aan via iPhone-instellingen → Apps → First Light → Taal.

Hoe verwijder ik alles?

Verwijder je schema’s in de app (dat ruimt HomeKit op) en daarna de app zelf. Losse items die beginnen met “First Light ·” kun je in de Woning-app verwijderen.

Lamps that can only be switched on and off are marked “not dimmable” and are not used.

Frequently asked questions

My lamps didn’t turn on.

Go through these points:

  • Hub: does your Apple TV or HomePod show as “Connected” in the Home app? (Home app → Home Settings → Home Hubs & Bridges)
  • Power: is the wall switch on?
  • Lamp: is it dimmable, and does it respond in the Home app?
  • Schedule: is it switched on for today?
I don’t have an Apple TV or HomePod.

Without a home hub, HomeKit cannot run the alarms, so First Light will not work. You can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.

My hub was offline.

First Light then shows “Hub not reachable”. Check the power and Wi-Fi of your hub. An Apple TV in sleep mode works fine as a hub.

My lamp shows as “not dimmable”.

In HomeKit the device can only be switched on and off, so a sunrise isn’t possible. Use a dimmable HomeKit lamp.

The wall switch was off.

Leave the power on and switch the lamp off with the Home app, Siri or a smart switch.

What are all those “First Light ·” scenes and automations in my Home app?

A sunrise is made of many small light steps. HomeKit can only run those on your hub if each step is its own scene with a time automation.

A default schedule (30 minutes, steps of 2 minutes) creates 16 scenes and 16 automations, regardless of the number of days. With steps of 3 minutes that is 11 + 11, with steps of 5 minutes 7 + 7. So larger steps give fewer items. An end step of “off” or “dim” adds one scene and one automation. Every extra schedule counts separately.

You don’t need to do anything with them: if you delete a schedule, the app cleans them up itself. Your own automations are left alone.

Does it work with Philips Hue, IKEA or other brands?

Yes, as long as the lamps appear in the Home app and can be dimmed there. For example Philips Hue (via the Hue Bridge), IKEA (via the DIRIGERA hub), Nanoleaf, LIFX and Eve. You can mix brands in one schedule.

Does it work when my iPhone is off?

Yes. The hub runs the sunrise, even when your iPhone is off, on silent or the app is closed.

How do I use Siri?

Say “Start sunrise with First Light”. To stop, use the bar at the bottom of the app or say “Stop sunrise with First Light”.

The app is in the wrong language.

First Light follows your iPhone’s language. You can change it in iPhone Settings → Apps → First Light → Language.

How do I remove everything?

Delete your schedules in the app (this cleans up HomeKit) and then the app itself. Any loose items that start with “First Light ·” can be deleted in the Home app.
